Ray Murphy, Jr. Ray Murphy Jr. is considered by many insiders to be a visionary within the field of African American themed comedy films, with a particular genius for identifying incredibly funny source material and developing that material into hysterically funny movies. Ray first came to Hollywood in 1985, after serving 6 years in the Air Force, to accept a job working as a Production Assistant for Eddie Murphy Productions. During his tenure as a PA, he worked on films like "Eddie Murphy - Raw" and "The Golden Child". As his hands-on experience grew, he graduated to Associate Producer on films like "Boomerang", "Harlem Nights" and "Life". After cutting his teeth on those films he went on to full producer credits in films like "Coming to America", "Metro", "The Nutty Professor", "Dr. Doolittle", "Bowfinger", and Vampire in Brooklyn". By this point, Ray was President of Eddie Murphy Productions. The worldwide box office gross revenues, and DVD/VHS rentals, for films that he oversaw during his career had significantly exceeded $1 Billion. Ray has a particular gift for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with people that he meets during the course of business. He has negotiated deals with some of the top industry professionals like Richard Lovett at the Creative Artist Agency, and Jerry Lewis (for the Nutty Professor). In addition, he also has an extensive network of solid relationships with actors, directors, agents, producers, managers, writers, and film studio executives. www.murphyboyz.com |
